Cat Caper founded SurfPony in 2022 by combining her love of mid century fashion, design, and retro advertisements with her fondness of beach & surf culture. She gets her inspiration while joining her long time boyfriend on the beach while he surfs in their native home of Los Angeles, CA.

Cat’s love for 1950’s style has been long growing. Dating back to her early teens she would frequently visit her hometown flea market on Sunday mornings with her mother and sister. There she would collect vintage photos, books, & anything that caught her eye. Her childhood bedroom was enthusiastically decorated with old black and white family photos of her ancestors, trinkets, and vintage Disney records. Her childhood bedroom has been a huge inspiration for her adult home by the beach––which is equally enthusiastically decorated but most importantly, decked out in her collection of vintage posters, ads, and music sheet artwork.

Although Cat creates packaging design for one of the world’s best toy companies by day, she has created this brand as a passion hobby of hers to share her personal love for illustration & design. Each of her collections feature compelling designs celebrating old style, with new clever ideas.
